316.660 Disposition of fines and forfeitures collected for violations; reporting requirement. — (1) Except as otherwise provided by law, all fines and forfeitures received by any county court from violations of any of the provisions of this chapter, or from violations of any ordinances adopting matter covered by this chapter, must be paid and distributed as provided in s. 318.21. (2) If the total revenue from traffic citations that a county or municipality receives in a fiscal year exceeds 33 percent of the total expenses that the county or municipality incurs to operate a law enforcement agency in the same fiscal year, the county or municipality shall submit a report to the Legislative Auditing Committee detailing its total revenue from traffic citations and its total expenses for law enforcement within 6 months after the end of the fiscal year.
