Colorado — Centennial

The Colorado rule stack.

Which law governs, in which order — and where the boundary sits. Colorado's consolidated rulebook is the contracted printer's publication, so the honest rule layer on this platform is the order stack.

TrialVector is software — not a lawyer, not a law firm, and not a substitute for one. It provides legal information of a general nature, not legal advice; it prepares no documents for you in Colorado today; and it forms no attorney-client relationship.

  1. Layer 1

    The Colorado Constitution

Art. II § 6's open-courts clause; art. VI builds the courts — § 9's district-court floor, § 26's Denver charter county court. 367 sections loaded whole.

  2. Layer 2

    The Colorado Revised Statutes

Fifteen thousand seven hundred forty-seven sections across fourteen titles from the OLLS's own publication — the limitations ladder (13-80), the CGIA gate (24-10-109), the money lines (13-6), the water courts (37-92), the LLP article (13-93 part 3). The 2025 compilation: the 2026 session is NOT integrated, and the armed overlay says so on every unit.

  3. Layer 3

THE VENDOR BOUNDARY — the consolidated C.R.C.P. itself

Colorado's consolidated court rules are published by the court's contracted printer and are NEVER scraped here. This layer is named, not loaded — every computed parameter on this platform comes from the layers above and below it, and every page that touches rule text says so.

Named, never loaded — the boundary itself.

  4. Layer 4

THE ORDER STACK — the honest rule layer

The Supreme Court amends by Rule Change order, and the orders print the amended portions. Forty civil-facing orders are loaded WHOLE (2017(12) through 2026(12)) — the 21-day answer clock lives in 2024(08)'s own print of C.R.C.P. 12(a)(1); the motion clocks in 2024(03)'s print of 121 § 1-15.

  5. Layer 5

    The Chief Justice Directives

The judiciary's administrative law — the CIVIL SET of ten is loaded whole, anchored by CJD 13-01 (the self-represented-litigant directive) and CJD 98-01 (indigent costs, quoting its statutory basis 13-16-103).

  6. Layer 6

    The federal rim

    D. Colo.'s unified Local Rules (eff. 2025-12-01) and the Tenth Circuit's 2026 FRAP + Circuit Rules book — Colorado is the Tenth Circuit book's first loader.

The temporal bomb on layer 2: Because the General Assembly adjourned on May 13, 2026, any legislation enacted without a safety clause goes into effect on August 12, 2026 (unless otherwise specified). The overlay is armed (armed-2026-08-12); from that date the Colorado gates redden until the 437-chapter wave reconciles.
